How to crack sbi po exam in first attempt?

Hello everyone, today I am going to explain how to crack sbi po in first attempt. After reading this article, you will get to know tips and tricks to crack bank exam without any extra effort.

For BANK PO there are 3 steps which are prelims, mains, and interview. As we all know syllabus is the primary factor for any type of exam. Syllabus of bank po and clerk is almost same.

Syllabus of prelims consists quantitative aptitude, reasoning and english language

Some says that you can pay less effort to one section if you want to give more effort to other section but honestly all sections plays an important role to clear the sectional cutoff because this sectional cutoff helps you to clear the overall cutoff and helps you to appear in the interview call.

In prelims there are 35 questions of quants and reasoning each and 30 questions for English section  which you have to tackle in 60 minutes(20 minutes each). Yes, there is sectional time as well. Each correct answer will fetch you 1 mark and for every incorrect answer 1/4th of the assigned marks shall be deducted. WORRIED! Well there is no need to worry because I will tell you the proper way in which you can maximize your attempts and score in the given time.

Lets discuss in brief about the syllabus of prelims.

1)Quantitative Aptitude:- This section includes,

  -Number series (wrong and missing)

  -Simplification and Approximation

-Data interpretation( bar, graph, tabular, pie chart, line graph, missing data, caselet, etc.)

-Arithmetic chapters (time, speed and distance, boat and stream, pipes and cistern, time and work,   mixture and allegations, ratio and proportion, partnership, averages, ages, percentage, profit and loss,     permutation and combination, probability, simple and compound interest and mensuration).

For quants divide the syllabus in 2 parts first one arithmetic and the other one is miscellaneous which includes remaining chapters other than arithmetic. Arithmetic portion can easily be tackled with the help of R.S Aggarwal book. This book helps you to build your basics. After completing the book the nest step you follow is to search online prelims level chapters wise questions. For Miscellaneous portion there is no need to solve any book you can master this section just by solving questions online because this portion is relatively easier than arithmetic portion and constitute almost 15 to 20 marks. Sites where you can solve prelims level questions are bankersadda and practicemock. Go to there sites or app select quants section and solve quizzes. There is no need to go here and there and give a try to any other site just follow these two sites and you can master this section.

2)Reasoning:- This section includes,

-Puzzles(box, floor, floor and flat, days and month, categorized, age)

-Seating arrangement(square, circular, triangular, linear, parallel, uncertain)

-Syllogism

-Blood relation

-Direction sense

-Alphanumeric series

-Coding and Decoding

-Inequalities

Just like quants divide this section in 2 parts first one is puzzle and seating arrangement and the other one is miscellaneous. Puzzle and seating arrangement only need practice because there is no formula to solve puzzle and seating arrangement. You can only fasten your speed with the help of practice which will give you the extra time to solve remaining questions. The other part which includes syllogism, blood relation, direction etc. will be a piece of cake once you understand the concept of these questions. Now the question is which site or which teacher you should follow? Follow Ankush lamba sir. He will provide you all types of puzzles and seating arrangement questions and miscellaneous questions. I don't think sir must have missed any exam level question in his videos.

3)English Language:- This section includes,

-Reading comprehension

-Para jumbles

-Fill in the blanks

-Cloze test

-Match the column

-Word swap

-Error spotting

-Sentence improvement

This section can easily be tackled if a candidate is well versed with grammar rules and vocabulary. For grammar rules you should follow paramount book volume 1 and 2 by Neetu singh and for vocabulary you should follow The Hindu newspaper's editorial portion. Do not do a mistake just by learning vocabulary by any book or site instead of following The Hindu newspaper because some times examiner gives the editorial in the reading comprehension. And one more advantage of following The Hindu newspaper is that it helps in the descriptive paper of mains exam. As I already mention in the quants section you just have to follow bankersadda and practicemock for prelims. For English you have to do the same. Go to there sites or app choose English section and solve quizzes.

So, this is the prelims the first step of your banking career journey. Same as prelims I will give you the proper guidance to crack mains exam in the very first attempt.

Mains exam includes Data analysis and interpretation, Reasoning and computer aptitude, English language, General/Economy/Banking awareness and Descriptive

The sectional timing and weightage of questions of mains exam is different from that of prelims. For correct answer there will be different sectional marking and for every incorrect answer 1/4th of the assigned marks will be deducted. The objective test in the mains examination will be conducted for 180 minutes and the total number of questions will be 155.

Lets discuss in brief the syllabus of mains.

1)Data Interpretation and Analysis:- It includes 35 questions of 60 marks and the time duration for this section is 60 minutes. As the name suggests this section includes all types of data interpretation which are mostly based on arithmetic chapters. Apart form data interpretation it includes chapters like Data sufficiency, Probability and Permutation and Combination. For this section what you do is search Harshal agarwal sir on You tube and follow their videos. He gives you the exact level of questions which you will find in the mains exam. After that you have to follow oliveboard app for solving mains level questions. After following these two steps you can easily score 50+ marks.

-Blood relation

-Machine input output

-Critical reasoning(decision making, course of action, cause and effect, assumptions, etc.)

What you can do for this section is to follow Ankush lamba sir's mains level videos and for critical reasoning follow Harshal agarwal sir's videos. After clearing your basics in topics which are not in prelims exam follow oliveboard app quizzes. Why I give importance to olive board is because this app gives you hard level questions which are important to practice before the mains exam. Olive board is only for mains exam there is no need to follow this app for your prelims exam. You can easily clear your prelims by following bankers adda and practice mock but not the mains exam. Ignore Computer aptitude because there is hardly any question I don't know why they add computer in mains exam when there is not a single question.

3)English Language:- This section includes 35 questions of 40 marks for 40 minutes. All the chapters are same as in prelims. The only difference is that the level of difficulty is high as compare to that of prelims. Here your habit of reading The Hindu newspaper helps you a lot because there are 2 to 3 reading comprehensions which you can easily understand. What you can do for this section is to follow the same app which I told you before the olive board app. Solve their quizzes and no one can stop you to score 40 out of 40.

4)General/Economy/Banking Awareness:-This section includes 40 questions of 40 marks for 35 minutes. This section is nothing but current affairs of various fields such as banking, economy, finance, events, committee, state, international, defense, awards, obituary, science, important days in a month, environment, etc. For this section you have to follow 2 sources one is affairscloud which is mandatory and for the other one you can follow anyone whether it is bankersadda, gk today, studyiq, etc. First step you follow is to download pdf of  affairs cloud monthly or weekly in which you can see approx. 15 topics which you have to learn and you have to remember till exam. Like SERIOUSLY! Well yes I am serious. That's why this section plays an important role in your selection because in interview questions asks by interviewer are based on the current affairs of banking, economy and finance sector. That's why it has banking and economy awareness name in this section. Well all the topics are important in this section but banking, economy and finance is most important because most of the questions are asked from these topics. After learn from the pdf you should follow video of the other source for the same week or month. By doing this you will remember current affairs for the long time. One thing this section wants is daily revision.

5)Descriptive:- This paper tests your English Language by giving you 2 questions Essay and Letter writing for 50 marks of 30 minutes duration. Topic of Essay is mostly asked from current affairs. You can easily deal with this section if you are aware of current topics. Even letter writing is also easy because we already know how to write the letter whether formal or informal. The word limit is 150 words but can write from 135 to 160 words. Correct use of grammar and vocab are the key points of essay and letter. For practice you should follow Guidely app. This app provides you the topics for practice.

Besides the preliminary and the mains exam, an interview process is also conducted for the candidates who qualify the first two phases of SBI PO exam.

The final selection is based on the marks scored by the candidates in his/her mains exam and interview process.

If you follow these steps I bet no one can stop you from taking the selection.
